Location of the Maths Building

The Cosmology and Relativity group is part of the Astronomy Unit and is based in the Mathematics building on the west side of the Mile End Campus. If you travel to London by train or bus, the simplest way to get to Queen Mary is by Underground (tube). The College is between Mile End station and Stepney Green station. Both are on the District line and, at the times of day it runs beyond Whitechapel, the Hammersmith and City line, and Mile End is on the Central line. You can come from either station but Stepney Green is closer to the Mathematics Building. At either station turn left out of the only exit, and keep walking straight on until you get to the College (on the opposite side of the road if you come from Mile End). The Maths Building is the College teaching building closest to Stepney Green and furthest from Mile End. There are signs at the College.

The Transport for London journey planner at http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk can provide useful instructions on how to get to the university. Enter one of Stepney Green or Mile End stations as the destination.

Building Works

The School of Mathematical Sciences is undertaking a major refurbishment programme that will radically change the design to our building both externally and internally. During the reconstruction, we regret that access to the building will be limited. If this could impact upon your intention to attend a seminar, please contact Bill White on 0207 882 5514 or email to w.white@qmul.ac.uk to discuss your particular requirements.
